Completed in the mid 1800’s and located in the Melbourne CBD opposite the State Library Victoria, the Old Melbourne Gaol is constructed in historic bluestone, containing the original cells across three levels high above amongst historic and museum features lining the walls. These cells held some of Australia’s most notorious criminals, including the infamous bush ranger Ned Kelly.
One of Australia’s most fascinating and unique spaces, the Gaol requires very little to create an event space that wows guests. With a capacity for up to 120 guests for a banquet dinner running down the length of the ground floor, or 350 for a cocktail reception. While also being able to add the option of a unique experience including Ghost Tours, Lock-up and more. The Old Melbourne Gaol always leaves guests talking.
